New song available February 1st 2021

On February first the new song 'Neon Light" becomes available. This time I have been waiting a month (actual upload 2020-12-31), to see what happens if you get time to pitch your upload to different music stores (Spotify and Apple).

I want to see which options you get and above all, if it is worth the wait in exposure, views, popularity on the go. Today in three weeks time! I am already excited.

X-mas

Merry Christmas and a healthy 2021

"Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year". We always say this to each other around this time. But it has never sounded more strange than it has this year.

I wish everyone who needs it a good recovery. Lots of strength and energy to deal with the loss. Good health for family, friends and those close to you. And I express the hope that 2021 will be better than this year.

Let's delete 2020, it has a virus in it. All the best,

Music youtube

"Google Play" becomes "Music Youtube"

This is a small reminder. Google Play for music will be Youtube Music. All of my music is now on the new platform. I have to adjust all links that lead now to Google Play to YouTube Music... For the time being you can click the Google Play Store Icon in the footer; this will redirect you to YouTube Music. Please take my apologies for this inconvenience.

Update: Oct 25th, 2020
Changed the logo and links on the homepage, the individual song pages and in the footer. Done.

Home Studio Tour: Hardware and Software (2020)

22/7/2020

Home studio tour in the year 2020, when everything is going to get rolling. I will give you an inside view of my home studio. I will be talking about what elements makes my studio, the studio that is right for me?
I record the moment
in the moment
every moment
I am a storyteller
and let the music speak

I will talk about software, the DAW I am using. DAW stands for 'Digital Audio Workstation', in fact it is the key in recording. (Why this DAW I am not addressing. That is something for a single solid video by itself. I get to that in the near future.)
A DAW is for recording instruments, or vocals, you do that with the help of that software.

And what kind of computer do I use? A dedicated one. There is no other software on than what is needed. to get the job done. More hardware: Instruments and controllers, amplifiers, studio monitors. Most of it is in this video. And what not is will come another time.

NOTE: Please bare in mind English is not my native language
(that is Dutch, The Netherlands)

Trunk Link
--for all my songs, per song there are multiple Music streaming websites available like: Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes Music, Google Play, Napster, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon and Medianet.

A 3

Missing motorway

A 3 album art
The next song coming out will be 'A 3'.
Dutch motorways consist of one letter A followed by a number of digits.
From Amsterdam going East to the German border is called A 1.
From Amsterdam going South East to Maastricht is called A 2.
From Amsterdam going South to Rotterdam is called A 3. But this motorway is never built. It is on plans of the motorway network in The Netherlands (1932) but did never make it.
A 4, A 5, A 6, A 7, A 8, A 9, A 10, A 12, A 13, A 15, A 16, A 17, A 18, A 20 and there are 30 more.

That is something to write a song about, I thought.
Using words like:
Searching for, minding my own business, getting tired, having a hole in my shoe, barefoot, no soles left, the perseverance and will to find what you are looking for. Depression, a hole in my soul and the expression of sadness. Fulfillment of life's questions or demands and the ridicule of finding freedom, or not? Peace or resignation are maybe better words in this context. Although the happiness of the music-style makes it more bearable.
I had to think of  'The Smiths'.

How much money is payed out?

9/10/2019

Your music on music stores in 2019

So, now that only one song is out, you kinda wonder how much money you are going to earn, now your music is published. I found some numbers and I already knew it ain't much. But it's even worse as I thought.
- Napster the old torrent illegal download website is paying the best; 0.019 USD per stream.
- Tidal is owned by JayZ and pays 0.0125 USD per stream.
- Apple is paying relatively good 0.00735 USD. (20% of the market)
- YouTube pays you almost nothing, 0.00069 USD.
- Spotify who is serving almost half of the market (47%) is paying also less then half, compared to Napster, 0.00437 USD.

Between Napster and YouTube are a lot of the major streaming / selling online music stores. The best choice is to find many of the minor websites. They pay the most.

Don’t ever make a career out of your earnings; only 3% of YouTubers earn enough to cross the poverty line. Well then, I made up my mind and only do it because I like music so much, ahum!
